Looking for a Drug Rehab in PA: Need Help for Drug Abuse

Question by Lisa C.: I’m looking for a low cost drug rehab in PA – I need help for drug abuse.
I’m 19 years old, and I’ve been smoking weed for almost three years. It helped with my anxiety disorder, but recently it is making my anxiety even worse.

Well, I’ve been a heavy smoker for the past 3 years. I’ve also been abusing different types of pills. I’m struggling with the addiction to drugs, I’ve been completely stressed out and depressed for a while, and I need help getting into an affordable drug rehab in PA.

I used to have a prescription for some pills but my doctor stopped prescribing them once she found out I had a history of substance abuse. So, once my current prescription runs out my anxiety is going to skyrocket unless I keep self-medicating. I believe that I could quit if I really wanted to, but I’m scared to actually try since I think I would fall apart.

My question is, how do i get help for general substance abuse – should I go to some drug rehab in PA or should I go and see my doctor about trying a new anxiety treatment? How do i get help for this?

Answer by Mike F.:

The best options for you will be to seek treatment in a Pennsylvania drug rehab center. An inpatient facility is best, because they will be able to keep you comfortable during your detox process, and monitor you for any side effects. You will be able to socialize with other addicts in PA drug rehab centers.

It sounds like your problem is self-medicating to control anxiety. You aren’t controlling anything. You’re just putting in on the back-burner for a while. You need to get to a point where you can handle your problems yourself with the help of a support system, rather than self-medicate. It doesn’t do anything good for you. So start looking for an effective Pennsylvania drug rehab.

What is Addiction?

Question by faith: What is Addiction?
The term “pa alcohol rehab addiction” is used in many contexts to describe an obsession, compulsion, or excessive psychological dependence, such as: alcohol  addiction , video game addiction, crime, money, work addiction, compulsive overeating, problem gambling, computer addiction, nicotine addiction, pornography addiction, etc.

PA alcohol rehab is a chronic neurobiologic disorder that has genetic, psychosocial, and environmental dimensions and is characterized by one of the following: the continued use of a substance despite its detrimental effects, impaired control over the use of a drug (compulsive behavior), and preoccupation with a drug’s use for non-therapeutic purposes (i.e. craving the drug).[1] Addiction is often accompanied by the presence of deviant behaviors (for instance stealing money and forging prescriptions) that are used to obtain a drug.

Tolerance to a alcohol addiction and physical dependence are not defining characteristics of addiction, although they typically accompany addiction to certain drugs. Tolerance is a pharmacologic phenomenon where the dose of a medication needs to be continually increased in order to maintain its desired effects.[2] For instance, individuals with severe chronic pain taking opiate medications (like morphine) will need to continually increase the dose in order to maintain the drug’s analgesic (pain-relieving) effects. Physical dependence is also a pharmacologic property and means that if a certain drug is abruptly discontinued, an individual will experience certain characteristic withdrawal signs and symptoms.[2] Many drugs used for therapeutic purposes produce withdrawal symptoms when abruptly stopped, for instance oral steroids, certain antidepressants, benzodiazepines, and opiates.

However, common usage of the term pa alcohol rehab addiction has spread to include psychological dependence. In this context, the term is used in drug addiction and substance abuse problems, but also refers to behaviors that are not generally recognized by the medical community as problems of addiction, such as compulsive overeating.

The term addiction is also sometimes applied to compulsions that are not substance-related, such as problem gambling and computer addiction. In these kinds of common usages, the term addiction is used to describe a recurring compulsion by an individual to engage in some specific activity, despite harmful consequences, as deemed by the user himself to his or her individual health, mental state or social life………Don’t Judge….God Don’t like ugly!

Just establish borders and stick to them. If you start drinking with breakfast or blacking out then you may want to consider leaving it alone
